MLK Was A Republican




This speaks for itself.

The question is how come young people do not know this?

This is a Lie - The Civil Rights Movement sought to join the Democrat Party 1964 - Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party & Worked with Democrat Presidents Kennedy & Johnson from Texas

Very good point. And yes, MLK Jr. was a Republican. Remember the segregationist leader at the time was Gov. Wallace, a Democrat I might add. Also, look at these stats from Michael Zaks who is the author of the book, "back to the basics."
"The Republican Leader in the Senate, Everett Dirksen (R-IL), wrote the 1960 Civil Rights Act. Senator Dirksen was the person most responsible for defeating the Democrat filibuster against the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The 1964 Civil Rights Act passed the House of Representatives with 80% Republican support but only 61% of Democrats. In the Senate, 82% of Republicans supported the bill compared to 69% of Democrats. Similarly, the 1965 Voting Rights Act was supported in Congress by a higher percentage of Republicans than Democrats." -Michael Zak
