One Detroit Synergy by Akindele Akinyemi
There are five people One Detroit is counting on in August to win their races.
However, the race for State House District 5 is now over.
Bert Johnson is the winner.
Korey Hall is the looser.
Proof? An expected 2600 voters are coming to stomp for Bert Johnson. Korey Hall is so far behind that people are beginning to think of him as a joke. No one is taking him seriously in this race.
I just want to thank those who have been reading this blogspot on Korey Hall. People are now exposed to what Korey's platform has been all along.
A NAACP platform.
When I walk in the district all I see is this:
People walking around with Bert Johnson's T-Shirts. Everywhere in the district. It's damn near popular like FUBU or something.
I have not seen people with Korey ANYTHING. Not even a lawn sign.
Bert Johnson is so popular (along with Bill McConoic and Moe Blackwell) in the district that Highland Park City Councilwoman Ameenah Omar had a major fundraiser at her home on behalf of the three.
200 people showed up RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO KOREY HALL'S HOUSE!!!!!! Korey did not know what to say or do. In fact, he kept peeking out the door and going to his car supposedly.
People have forgiven Bert for his past sins. However, people have not forgiven Korey for getting drunk at Mr. Ted's in Downtown Detroit, getting high and lying to hundreds at Plymouth United Church of Christ during a Community Coalition Candidate Forum about helping passing legislation in Lansing when no one knows who he is. In fact, Korey told Bert that he had to lie to look good.
So while you haters are hating on Bert Johnson this race is over.
Another race that is over is the epic Senate battle in District 5 between Tupac Hunter, Triette Reeves and Derrick Hale.
Tupac has won that race as well. I have never seeen so many people coming out to support Tupac. In fact, Tupac is polling around 55%-60% in the race. Triette's base has been cracked and spells trouble for the former state representative. I have been saying all along that it would have been a great idea if she would have stayed in the background and give support for Tupac, since it was her who mentored him in the first place.
As for Derrick Hale, no one is taking him seriously in this race. I caught a few lawn signs on West Outer Drive this morning but that about it.
So the One Detroit Network knows for a fact that Bert Johnson and Tupac Hunter have won their races respectively.
Now it boils down to three more races. According to several sources as of today Bill McConico leads Martha G. Scott by 2% for the State Senate race. One church I visited stated that Martha Scott feels that she is loosing her grip in the district as a whole.
Bill McConico will win this seat by 2-3%.
Another hot race is State House District 9. Shanelle Jackson is close to clinching this seat but both Anthony Bradford and Tia Davis is right on her trail less than 3%. Tia has begun her lawn sign runs al over the district and Bradford is blitzing the district. However, One Detroit's Shanelle will win it all.
Last but not least the State House race in District 4. This is going to be a tight one between Coleman A Yong Jr., Maureen Stapleton and Kimberly Hill. Kimberly is the sleeper that everyone in the race underestimated. Watch Ms. Hill pull off an incredible upset the same was the Miami Heat beat the Pistons and Mavericks.
Kimberly Hill is protected by the Blood of the Lamb so we already know who is going to win this race.
