Chad Miles: A Man of Integrity and Vision by Akindele Akinyemi

The change we need is very important for the State of Michigan. Congressman John Conyers have been in Congress since 1964 and is defined to many as a career politician. I have no personal beef with Conyers because the man has stood on what's right and even though I do not agree with him all the time I feel that it's time to let Conyers go off into the sunset.

The 14th district needs to understand that One Detroit is always crafting and creating candidates to run for office. That is the nature of this business. Developing mature, fresh and young leadership that will take us into the next decade with innovative ideas, fresh new beginnings and opening the doors of opportunities for minorities.

This is why I have endorsed Chad Miles for Congress in the 14th District. I have spoken to Chad a few times and he is hungry to lead. Coming from a family with a long history of military service, Chad proudly served seven years on active duty in the US Army with nearly two years overseas in four different countries. He served two enlistments; one in the Infantry and the other in Military Intelligence. Chad served in the 82nd Airborne Division, the 2nd Infantry Division (South Korea) and the 5th Special Forces Group. He is a graduate of the Non-Commissioned Officers Academy and the US Army Intelligence School. Chad finished his military service as a sergeant (E-5) and was honorably discharged in 1997. Chad is a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

Therefore, he understand the importance of intelligence and would follow other conservative leaders on issues such as border patrol, straightening our national defense and fighting terrorism.

Chad Miles understand the importance of educational choice for our children in the 14th District. With 544 schools failing in Michigan we need more choices for our children to graduate and compete in a global job market, something that Democrats are afraid of.

Economic development and economic growth are a big part of Chad's program. Understanding that Michigan is loosing jobs to Indiana, Ohio and other neighboring states Chad's economic development program would help bring new innovative jobs to Michigan.

More importantly, it's time for a change in the 14th District. There are so many people warming up to Chad Miles. They are not looking at the fact that he is a Republican but they are looking at the fact that Michigan needs a change. The 14th District needs a change. I took a tour in several precincts in Detroit near Dearborn Heights recently and many constituents in that area are seeking change and they are willing to give Chad Miles a good look. Some even said they would support Chad Miles because they are just tired of liberals controlling the district.

It's time for a change. Let's support Chad Miles for Congress.
