Groundbreaking Radio Ad Released by Black Republican Group

Washington, DC, September 7, 2006 - An edgy 60-second radio ad that will open the eyes of black Americans was released by the Washington, DC based National Black Republican Association (NBRA) and paid for by the group’s affiliate, the Black Republican Freedom Fund, a 527 organization.

The message in the ad will surprise most black Americans, according to Frances Rice, Chairman of the NBRA. “It sets the record straight,” she said, “demonstrating that it was Republicans, not Democrats, who championed civil rights for blacks over the past 150 years.” Rice went on to say, “Democrats have hijacked the civil rights record of the Republican Party and fought every effort of Republicans to help blacks get off of the Democrat Party’s economic plantation.” Rice opined that for the sake of black children, black Americans must stop having their vote taken for granted and recognize that Democrat Party policies of socialism and dependency on government handouts offer the pathway to poverty, while Republican Party principles of hard work, getting a good education and ownership of homes and small businesses offer the pathway to prosperity.

“Our ad deals with history as well as current issues,” said Andre Cadogan, the NBRA’s First Vice Chairman. Cadogan explained that the ad provides information about what Republicans have done lately to help black Americans, including spending billions of dollars on education, health care and job training. The radio spot also exposes how the Democrats have bamboozled blacks. Democrats claim that they care about poor blacks, Cadogan lamented, but they continuously act to harm blacks, and recently Senate Democrats killed the minimum wage law passed by House Republicans. “Democrats have been running our inner cities for the past 30-40 years,” Chairman Rice noted, “and their failed socialist policies have turned our inner cities into economic and social wastelands. The ad,” she continued, “is part of our educational campaign to wake up black Americans and return blacks to their Republican Party roots.”

“It’s the first of its kind,“ the group’s Second Vice Chairman, Richard St. Paul, said “ the ad also points out that the values of blacks are more closely aligned with the Republicans, and its time for blacks to vote their values.”

Pam: Dr. King was a real man.

Tina: You know . . he was a Republican.

Pam: Dr. King, a Republican? Really?

Tina: Democrats passed those Black Codes and Jim Crow laws. Democrats started the Ku Klux Klan.

Pam: The Klan . . . White hoods and sheets?!

Tina: Democrats fought ALL Civil Rights Legislation from the 1860’s to the 1960’s. Democrats released those vicious dogs and fire hoses on blacks.

Pam: Seriously!

Tina: And the Dixiecrats? Remained Democrats and vowed to vote for a yellow dog, before a Republican. Republicans freed us from slavery and put our right to vote in the Constitution.

Pam: What?

Tina: Republicans started the NAACP, affirmative action and the HBCU’s.

Pam: Democrats have bamboozled blacks.

Tina: Democrats blocked the minimum wage passed by Republicans. Over 200 billion dollars have been spent on education, healthcare and job training since President Bush took office.

Pam: So, Democrats want to keep us POOR and voting ONLY Democrat.

Tina: Democrats want us to accept same-sex marriages; teen abortions without a parent’s consent and suing the Boy Scouts for saying “God” in their pledge.

Pam: We NEED to THINK! and vote OUR own values.

Tina: Exactly… Democrats have talked the talk, but Republicans have walked the walk.

Pam: I hear ya girl. It time for us to “DO” the walk.

(Together they laugh about it.)
