This man is considering a run for the presidency in 2008.
That would be great if he ran for President in 2012.
The reason is simple. Oftentimes, we see young, energetic people step on the scene of the Democratic or Republican Party. They are intelligent, willing and able to make things happen with their respected parties. In fact, they even move up the leadership ladder of their parties.
However, for Barack Obama to possibly jump from U.S. Senator to President of the United States is more of an abomination than a help. I would rather see someone seasoned like Colin Powell or Condoleeza Rice run for President than Obama at this time.
I would like to see the first Black President of the United States, first Latino president or first woman president. But they have to be creditable and seasoned for this type of position.
I do not want to see Obama make the same exact mistake that Gov. Granholm did when she was Attorney General of the State of Michigan. Granholm was coerced into thinking she can run a state like Michigan by her late mentor Ed MacNamara. She has done poorly in running the state and I feel though that she was more capable of being a great Attorney General than Governor.
Obama needs to give it a rest and serve out his term in the U.S. Senate. He has started a trend in Black politics. Brothers can be elected to the U.S. Senate of they have a purpose.
Obama needs to fulfill his purpose.
