The Genesis Project by Akindele Akinyemi

Today I am declaring full war on education. I am sick and tired of reading how our children are failing in our public schools as well as alternative forms of education. The liberal left has hijacked education to the extent of where in California it is illegal to use the term "mom" and "dad" in schools.

It is just a matter of time before such nonsense comes to Michigan. Therefore, I am introducing the Genesis Project.

This is a project that is focused on building entrepreneurship with our children through family values. Through this project we hope to set up our college preparatory academies that is family focused. We know already that one course we must implement into our main curriculum is marriage and family.

Presently, in our community, marriage does not exist in most homes. In fact, in the black community, it is an alternative lifestyle. Commitment is an alternative lifestyle also. Relationships are so absent in our community that too many of us are just sleeping with the enemy for sport.

In 1963, when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. declared, “I have a dream,” more than 70% of black families were headed by married couples. Today, 40 years after the Civil Rights Act of 1964, married couples head only 46% of black families.

More alarming, 45% of black men have never married and 42% of black women have never married.

Married black women declined from 62% to 31% between 1950 and 2002.

By age 30, only 52% of black women will marry compared to 81% of white women, 77% of Hispanics and Asians.

Only 6% of black men and 2% of black women marry Whites.

85% of black children do not live in a home with their fathers.

Only 15-20% of black children born today will grow up with 2 parents until age 16.

Over 80% of long-term child poverty occurs in broken or never-married homes.

70% of African-American boys in the criminal justice system come from single-parent homes.

Nearly 2 million black males are either currently in a state or federal prison or have been in one.
17% of black men have had prison experience compared to 7.7% of Hispanics and 2.6% of whites.

While all of this is going on our educational system are committing academic genocide on our children. It's OK to pass out condoms in the teen health center in a high school but it is not ok to stress commitment.

Fatherlessness is correlated with criminality, poverty and low academic achievement. Fatherless children are more likely to beget fatherless children - and the cycle continues.

The institutionalized and deeply ingrained system of government-mandated lowered standards for blacks has set the clock back for our people. Interesting to hear black liberals cry about how the loss of affirmative action has set the clock back. I beg to differ. We can now see how vulnerable we really are in the field of education as far as preparation.

Our ancestors would be sick to their stomach to see blacks advocating race preferences and fighting to maintain the position that blacks cannot be expected to compete with people of other races. They would be deeply disappointed to hear them tell the world that blacks living in the greatest country in the world are the weakest people in the world, unable to achieve anything without the help of a patronizingly paternal central government.

In fact, I visited one government ran school here in the immediate Detroit area and this is what I found right in the classroom.

When I walked into the classroom this was on the board...telling the teacher f-you.

When I asked this guy what he wanted to be 5 years from now he said a "gangsta." You can see him throwing up gang signs.

If you are wondering where the teacher is she was on her cellphone. One of the most ghetto instructors I had ever met. She said children are allowed to sleep in her class because it cuts down on the riff raff and she does not have to work as hard with a bunch of ghetto niggers.

As you can see where is the rest of her class? They never showed up for class. They are skipping the halls.

This boy was playing with his Sony PSP. When I asked him for his attention he told me to f- off. I am not his daddy. Security never showed up.

This guy said he was going to screw one of these bitches in here. He was grabbing his stuff to show that he had the biggest thing in the classroom. What I found about this guy was he has flunked two grades already.

Wanna be gangsters. You can see the guy in the back throwing up gang signs again.

The Genesis Project is the exact opposite of this behavior. While we are pushing for charters with this project these charters will be college preparatory schools that focuses on academic excellence and fiscal integrity through family and educational values. Our children must clean up their act and be prepared for a global experience in the 21st century. Teaching our children about character values, etiquette, and even trading currencies (FOREX) is something that all families can benefit from.

We will still stress the importance of math, science and technology in our classrooms. I am recommending that students take 4 years of foreign language so when it is time for children to go overseas for school (foreign exchange programs) they would have mastered the language. This training will also take them far in life.

We want to adopt the 90/90 method. I saw this method work at University Preparatory Academy in Detroit. 90% of the students will graduate and 90% will go to a 4 year college.

Most importantly, teaching our children core family values will be crucial to help fight the growing threat of homosexuality and illicit sex in our schools. Schools in all urban areas have failed at this because they are afraid of the courts and state lawmakers. This is why I am urging our state lawmakers to endorse the Genesis Project. In fact, I am asking those who are reading this to make a commitment to support the Genesis Project to help open our school next year.

The Genesis Project is multi-cultural and will support a diverse student body. I want students coming to our school from all over the world. I want to send our children all over the world. I want Black, White, Hispanic, Arab, Bengali, Irish, British, and Jewish at our schools. We are not just trying to save one race of people but all races.

If we do not change the way we do business in our educational system we will continue to murder our children academically and spiritually.
