The Assassination of Benazir Bhutto is A Complete Waste by Akindele Akinyemi

Unfortunately, we have lost another solider in the fight for democracy in this world.

Her name was Benazir Bhutto. She was the former Prime Minister of Pakistan. She was assassinated on Thursday in Rawalpindi, Pakistan by a guess what...a suicide bomber.

Here is a person who wants democracy restored to her beloved country and she is the target of terrorists.

For those who feel that the United States are wasting time policing the world then how come the United Nations will not step up to the plate? Resolutions will simply not work anymore.

Iran will have a nuclear weapon in a year and it is already rumored that terrorists have been smuggling weapons that are able to take out cities here in the United States across the border in Mexico. If you feel illegal immigration is not a problem socially then you better look at from a national security perspective as well as the economic implications.

When I see this type of action taking place to me it upsets the democratic process. What happens if Pakistan breaks up like the former Yugoslavia? It can be broken up into state-like countries with a regime that is not only hostile towards us here in the West but have nuclear weapons. We do not think about it from that angle.

As a former Muslim who turned his life over to Jesus Christ I am saying that we need to purge these Islamic fundamentalists because they do not represent true Islam. Not all Muslims are evil people and not all Christians are good. Just because you believe in Jesus Christ and can speak tongues does not mean our community is safe. We see suicide missions daily in the Black community as well as assassinations. Yet, there is a church on every corner sitting right next to a liquor store.

As we move into the new year let us be mindful that the fight for democracy will never end until those who block our progress are neutralized.
