Michigan is Almost Red Thanks To Sarah Palin by Akindele Akinyemi

I am listening to MSNBC, FOX News, CNN, Headline News, ABC, CBS, NBC, and even PBS on Gov. Sarah Palin. They are demonizing this woman to death. They have the spotlight on her daughter (of all people) and Blacks in my community are talking about how dysfunctional her household is in Alaska.

You have got to be kidding.

While there are no perfect families in American society for Blacks to point the finger at Palin about dysfunctional is crazy. We vote for a dysfunctional party that has left us (Democratic Party), we are supporting a candidate that is pro-choice, pro-gay marriage (or civil unions), and supports sex education for 5 year olds as seen in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wr8GW7bCyMQ). He says age appropriate measures are needed. I say teach a 5 year old how to use phonics first. Sex can wait and it is the responsibility of the parent to teach that child(ren) sex on their own merit.

The reason why Sen. Obama is leading by 1% in Michigan. At one point Obama was leading Sen. McCain by 11% here in Michigan. Now his lead has vanished. We can only thank Sarah Palin for that because she has re-energized the conservative base.

Speaking of conservative base this is one of the CORE reasons why she was picked by McCain to run for Vice President. She can REACH out to the evangelical base (regardless if you are Black or White). The false impression was to reach out to women voters. She is doing a extraordinary job reaching out to men of all ages and races.

So here comes the liberal media. They are trying their hardest to get Obama elected. How come the same liberal media has hid the fact that Obama is having a hard time getting grassroots support in the inner cities of America because he refuses to pay street money?

I am not saying that Sarah Palin is the cure for the GOP. But the simple fact that I am hearing that she is NOT qualified to be Vice President is absolutely ridiculous. If Michelle Obama was selected as a Vice President we would be cheering her on even though she does not have any experience.

First, Palin is a governor of a state called Alaska. While die hard radicals of Obama claim that she is not qualified is fooling themselves. She did not even become a Governor because she wanted to become a career politician but because she wanted to see her state move in a different direction. She has done this while maintaining a family life with her husband and children.

Now as Governor, she has maintained a $10 billion budget, Commander-In-Chief of the Alaska National Guard and must oversee 15,000 employees. Obama is not even close.

Second, people make fun of Palin because she was Mayor of Wasilla, AK. Wasilla is a small town. However, she was a MAYOR, an elected official. Young people do not understand this but poke fun at her. Being a mayor has a lot of responsibilities. She successfully handled this.

She has entrenched elites, battling corruption, and reducing the legislature’s bloated capital appropriations in Alaska as Governor. Her state is in a surplus while Gov. Granholm has successfully led Michigan to a 8.9% unemployment rate. This, along with her colleagues in the Democratic Party here in Michigan, are successfully chasing young people out of Michigan creating a serious brain drain.

Gov. Palin brings real reform credentials, authentic conservatism, small-government values, and the pragmatic ethos of a middle-class mother of five. Sounds like my kind of woman to me. So how come many feminist groups and Black women I have spoken to denounce Palin as Vice President? I can only think of one thing.

Personal responsibility.

Gov. Palin is not in the business of big government taking care of people who can take care of themselves. I was watching on C-SPAN last week how these feminist organizations got together to endorse Obama because he supports their platform. How can anyone support abortion or killing the unborn with a clear conscious? Blacks must begin to get out of thinking that abortion is a method of birth control or use it as an excuse when one is raped. How do we know that God has a plan for you? We talk about about the importance of God in church on Sunday but what are we doing Monday-Saturday?

And then these same feminist groups applaud Obama for not taking an extreme position on civil unions. In our community we should take a strong position on marriage. Marriage is between man and woman and our community should not support any legislator, candidate or judge (district, circuit, state or federal) that believes in same sex marriages or civil unions.

Ms. Palin is a supporter of pro-life and has demonstrated this by giving birth to a child with down syndrome. If she is courageous enough to give birth to a child with special needs then we should be pro-life in every sense of the word. There is too much death in the Black community and while our churches have fallen silent on social issues our children are running the streets, not receiving an education and have lost hope.

While haters are hating on Palin we should remember how Obama is the least experienced candidate running for the White House. I mean the guy has never ran a city, has never ran a state, has never ran a business, has never administered a payroll and has never led people in crisis.

Carly Fiorina, a senior McCain advisor, called Palin “a person of great accomplishment” and suggested she excites women because she is “a woman trying to balance her work life and her family life, not to mention her incredible track record of reform and taking on, as she said, the good old boy network.”

While Palin supports American values in our communities Barack Obama is for the following (as exposed by author Brad O'Leary):

  • Blocked emergency medical aid for babies who survived abortion.

  • Plans to ban the use of firearms by law abiding citizens—even for self-defense.

  • Was abandoned by his bigamist father and raised in a Muslim society—and
    how this influences his values.

  • Would raise tax rates to a Hoover-like 60 percent.

  • Will transform the U.S. Treasury into the United Nations’ ATM.

  • Wants fuel prices high and farmland taken out of production.

  • Will grant federal medical insurance to 12 million illegal aliens and increase
emergency room costs alone by $15.4 billion annually.

  • Would transfer child-rearing from parents to the federal government with his
    secular “0 to 5” program.
I am not comfortable in supporting someone like this for President. If Obama was more moderate I would support him but because he is so far to the left I cannot support him. In fact, while he sits and lies on TV day in and day out he claims he is for change. If that is the case can ANYONE please explain to me why Obama was cited by the National Journal as the most liberal senator in Congress – meaning, out of 535 members, Obama has the most extremist voting record of all his colleagues in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. There is nothing "coming together," bipartisan or "independent" about Sen. Obama. He is all about liberal polices that has failed the Black community for decades.

I cannot support his running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, either. While we talk about Palin's experience let's talk about Biden. Here is a man who always puts his foot in his mouth, first supported the war in Iraq; then he didn't, co-wrote a pro-war op-ed in December 2002 and predicted the United States military presence in Iraq – following the toppling of Saddam Hussein – to last as long as a decade and urged Bush to prepare this nation accordingly. Biden now wants out of Iraq by a date certain. He opposed the surge, as did Obama, and predicted its failure. And he came up with a plan to break Iraq into three parts – a scheme that the Kurds, the Sunnis and the Shiites rejected.

The reality is that we need leadership that is unbought and unbossed. We should support someone who is for our values, for small government and for ownership. Someone who is for families and children and supports biblical principles that are Christ-centered.

I will take Gov. Sarah Palin anytime over the liberal machine that have Black folks hoodwinked and have our people placing Jesus Christ on the shelf for Obama. We need strong moral leadership in the White House. Please keep in mind that Sarah's daughter is NOT running for VP so we can kill that discussion.

Wow. You're actually spreading the lie about Barack wanting sex education for 5 year olds. Yes, the "age appropriate" stuff was meant to be along the lines of "If someone touches you there, you need to tell your parent or a teacher immediately."

NOT actual SEX education for 5 year olds. But of course Republicans will play this out as far as it will go (it's likely no one even cares that much anyway.. most people have enough common sense to dismiss this attack.)

I guess if a pedophile walks up to a young child and asks her or him to close their eyes, suck some white stuff through a fleshy shaft for a candy bar and the child being totally ignorant about "sex" does it, people like Akindele will still think age appropiate education about sex is "ungodly". That is some dumb shit and further proves that most Republicans are idiots. Kids need the knowledge to protect themselves. That's how sex predators are able to manipulate our children, use their lack of knowledge about sex against them. I work with abused children and have heard the horror stories, I know this.

And if Republicans outlaw abortion, how are they going to get abortions for their mistresses? Are they going to stick coat hangers in their pussies like the old days? Let's be real here. You think only liberals have abortions? You can outlaw abortion but you can't outlaw the practice, because if a woman doesn't want a baby, she is going to find some way to get rid of it, even risking her life in the process. I don't agree with aborting a fetus either, but that's just the reality of the situation. And you can't force a woman to conceive of a child that is a product of rape. That is just disgusting and totally uncalled for.

I use to have alot of respect for you Akindele, but you are really showing that you are totally clueless.

Then it is the PARENTS responsibility to teach them this NOT the damn school system whose teachers are screwing our children.

This is a damn excuse. The reality of the situation is the fact that we have removed God and faith from our mindsets to come up with such bullshit excuses on why we need abortions. We say rape, we sayt molestation, have you thought for one second of why that child was conceived in the first place?

I used to have respect for you too but you are totally clueless.

"Wow. You're actually spreading the lie about Barack wanting sex education for 5 year olds."

You know Planned Parenthood supported this "lie". I guess you believe that PP was created for the hell of it and Margaret Sanger was not racist.

This is the same PP that promotes using saran wrap around your ding-a-ling if you do not have condoms. Even a PP counselor told me that right here in Detroit.

But I'm lying.

If you want to promote sex ed for a 5 year old (even though this should be the parents responsibility NOT the teacher) then please go right ahead. I would rather see a 5 year old learn his/her phonics and math.

Akindele, yes, it SHOULD be the parents responsibility. But how many parents are taking that task to heart? There are a ton of parents who just aren't good enough parents to do this. So, I don't have a problem with a school system teaching some basics of safety when it comes to youngsters. Do you think a child deserves to be molested just because his parents are too stupid to teach him/her any better??

And you say this:
"We say rape, we sayt molestation, have you thought for one second of why that child was conceived in the first place?"

I'm not really sure what you mean by that. But rape maybe be an "excuse," but it's a damn good excuse. A woman who has been raped shouldn't be 'raped' again by being forced to bear a child she doesn't want and had no wish to conceive.

I wonder if any of you have actually read the bill. Here is a link to the actual final mar up of the bill.

I think it is a bit of to do about nothing, but to say that the bill was only designed to teach children about inappropriate touching is a lie. That is a a very minor part. The greater part deals with STS, HIV and the responsibility of males in a sexual relationship.

McCain was right, but the bill also did make provision for parents to object to their children receiving the education.

"Then it is the PARENTS responsibility to teach them this NOT the damn school system whose teachers are screwing our children"

Teachers screwing our children? WTF? What if the parents are the ones exactly abusing the kids? Kids need to protect themselves. Whose to say that kids can't get a great education with a little age-appropriate sex education.

"This is a damn excuse. The reality of the situation is the fact that we have removed God and faith from our mindsets to come up with such bullshit excuses on why we need abortions."

If a woman is raped or if she is the victim of incest, you honestly believe she is obligated by God to give birth to the baby? What if this woman is a little girl who has not developed physically enough to endure childbirth?

"We say rape, we say molestation, have you thought for one second of why that child was conceived in the first place?"

So, are you implying that the woman was raped and sexually violated for a legitimate reason? That is just sick. If your God is that cruel, it can go fuck itself.

There are so many fallacious arguments in Akindele's writings, it is hard to believe that he is actually college-educated. And nearly all of the Nigerians I have met are extremely smart and intelligent, regardless of political affiliation. I guess he is the first dumb one I have actually encountered.

Eddie, so kids are not suppose to learn about HIV, STDS, etc? WTF is this? Pull the wool over little kids eyes and hope and pray they are protected from the harsh realities of sex? Do you know how many kids are sexually molested, raped and get STDS, even AIDS in some cases? I have seen it. "The responsibility of a male in a sexual relationship?" What exactly does that mean, teaching the fact that a male sticks a penis in a woman's vagina during sexual intercourse?

Your blog is fantastic. I'm a Brit, live in England, Nigerian parentage. It's so great to see someone thinking for themselves and not just going with the herd towards the left wing - people who have so many views that are abominable to our people. From history, the Republicans have always been better for African Americans. Love seeing someone who recognises this.

Africanmum doesn't have a clue. Read a history book, sweetie.

Oh, boy.

I'm a teenager in the public school system. In the first grade, a nice African American woman who called herself Ms. Smiley came to our classroom, and pulled out two stuffed bears. One bear was covered by shorts, the other by a bikini. She then told us that if we we were a girl, the parts covered by a bikini were our private parts, and if we were a boy, the parts covered by the shorts were our private parts. And if anyone tried to touch our private parts, we were to tell mommy or daddy, or a teacher.

OMIGAW I'M SCARRED FOR LIFE!!!11

...

How is that teacher doing a BAD thing? How has she corrupted me? And why SHOULD a parent have to tell their child that if teachers are willing? Because if there IS something wrong with what "Ms. Smiley" taught my class, I'd honestly like to know, because I don't see it.
